Spocom Hawaii 2026
20 years of Spocom… A lot of brands, businesses, or even car clubs can’t even say that. There was quite a lot to celebrate at this year’s Spocom Hawaii event. A handful of OG builds popped out, even after a couple decades, as well as the usual heavy hitters. JZFilth also celebrated their 10 year anniversary as well. Many heart felt emotions around the building, but in a great way. The gathering many people look forward to every year not just from the locals, but people from the mainland too. You can always count on me to show up every year. Enjoy the coverage 🤙🏼
SMG always one of the first to show up and rolling in deep. Never a shortage of A80 Supras.
Chris Calimlim switched up the appearance on his full carbon Supra by wrapping it this unique yellow… Some might hate it, but I dig it.
More R34’s popping around the island. Love to see it.
Very fancy rig on this Liberty Walk A90 Supra owned by Brennan Wright. One hell of a media car I must say…
Brandon Kim’s Apex Blue Pearl S2000 CR fitted with a Voltex Racing aero, EVS Tuning mirrors, diamond black TE’s, and Spoon brakes.
The rain started to kick in hard for a short moment, but made the photos quite aesthetically pleasing like this one of this Honda Orthia.
Not many E30 sedans appreciated in general, but this one was nice rolling in on BBS RS wheels.
Tanner Tamura continues to upgrade his supercharged S2000 with subtle, yet tasteful mods every Spocom. This year he added some Craft Square mirrors, Spoon brakes, and J’s Racing wing & canards to go with the front lip. Very proper brah!
Beefy & lifted Tacoma TRD Pro that won first place ‘Best Toyota’ award.
Sleek Grand National turning in to the exhibition hall.
This EK9 Type R was something that reminded me of the prime Honda-Tech days. Backyard Special bumper, Mugen MF10’s, and Spoon brakes. Doesn’t take much to look good, except that a lot of these parts are worth a fuck ton now lol.
J-Spec DC2 Type R sporting a Spoon lip & brakes, Sprint Hart CP-R wheels, and Mugen Gen 2 wing.
Proper pair of Golden Era Hondas.
Caitlyn Iha hasn’t done much to her EK lately, but it still looks great. She showed again for her business ‘Sachi Co’. RIL Kuma 🖤
Mike Mariani brought out the maroon Accord wagon this time while his wife, Sara, brought the Prelude to represent Shop Space. OG Racing Hart C5’s were shining along the rare chrome Ganador mirrors.
Bryan Bonilla hasn’t done much to his K-powered EF hatch, but it’s still sick. I think maybe because he has too many projects in his hands…
It’s been a few years since Oliver Olipares brought out his EK. Not much done to it compared the last time I seen it, but I think mainly because he’s been helping his wife build her project car. Nonetheless, it’s still timeless with the Airwalker bumper and MF10’s.
Nice debut for Claire Olipares’ “Not DAP” EK. Clean and simple tucking some 16×8 +25 TE37’s that flows well with the Mozcraft lip. A lot went into this build with a whole lot of red label parts and a few EK9 CTR goodies.
Kinda hard to tell from the photo, but she’s rocking some SRR LCA’s under there. True OG stuff 👌🏼
Such a cute His & Hers duo 🫶🏼
ASM S2000 waiting to roll in…
Pretty interesting 964 on BRAID Classic Serie 4 RC wheels with aero discs.
RHD EK sedan rocking a full Mode Parfume aero and SSR wheels.
Dae Son’s immaculate Datsun 240Z on SSR mesh wheels.
Ross Yamada’s 2JZ-GTE swapped GS300 fitted with a Mode Parfume front bumper & side skirts, widebody, Ganador mirrors, SerialNine trunk, and Braga LED taillights. Funny enough, my GS has a few of the same parts as well 😉
Mikey Yeung stays true to 18’s… This year he switched up to some Arms Gray TE37’s for his ASM loaded S2000, and even got the full Renegade Motorsports BBK treatment.
JZFilth finally incoming…
The big debut I was most excited about: Martin Phan has been busting his ass on this SC the past year and made it just in time for the show. The crunch time was real because I stopped by his house the previous night and he was still wet sanding the paint… Martin wanted to keep the OEM+ look for the exterior, but everything still popped from the glossy black paint and chrome Work CR Kiwami wheels he had stashed away for a while. 4 years worth of work smashed into a 1 year span…
If you remember from last year’s event, Martin showed out this 2JZ-GE crate on a stand that he’s now running in the SC. Martin utilized a Third Strike Fabrications low mount turbo manifold with plenty of Titan Motorsports components, and a dump tube exiting through the passenger fender.
Martin acquired some Futura Design brakes and custom etched up the Stussy logo to represent one of his favorite brands. Proper details matter, and if you know me you should know I loved this A LOT lol.
Jake Antolin’s Sport Design GS300 looking fire as usual. The TOM’s strut bar was a nice addition.
Dom Concordia switched up the low mount to a factory 1JZ manifold with an up pipe and paired it with an OG Greddy TD06 25G turbo in his JZX100 Chaser. He also got a couple Greddy caps to match the boosted set up and even got the WELD heat sink cover triple chromed along with the turbo heat shield. Good stuff Manong!
Chris Diza switched up the Work Equip 05’s to some CST Zero-1 Hyper V2 wheels.
Chris is also running a Kinugawa turbo on his 1JZ.
Ken Rimando’s JZX100 MKII fitted with a Vertex lip kit, Ganadors, and SSR Koenigs.
Dom handed off his low mount turbo set up to Ken to run on his 1JZ swap.
Jherrold Kanoa Ea’s JZX100 Chaser rocking a BN Sports Type 2 body kit and Advan TCII wheels.
You can never have too many Blitz goodies in your bay…
Martin hasn’t done much to his A70 Supra lately, mainly since he’s been so focused on the SC build. Still one of the best MK3 Supras ever built though.
I think the last time I seen Randon Manuwa was before covid. Couldn’t remember what car he had at that time, but over the years he’s been putting together this wicked F80 M3. I like the Carbon Boost bumper along with the carbon fenders all wrapped in a nice Copaze Blue colorway. Very nice BBS RS2 wheels too.
AE86 Levin Coupe on TE37V wheels representing Hamada Financial Group.
Fire pair of 240SX hatches at the same booth.
Shayne Javier and Kai Kaneshiro got matching wraps done on their WRX’s. The bromance is real lol.
Project Black Motorsports’ insane candy red WRX wagon that was originally built in New Zealand now resides in Oahu.
The wagon is powered by a 2JZ swap with a massive GTX5533 turbo and nitrous. Kinda not surprised this took home the Best of Show award.
Oahu’s first SFWD Civic redone up by Henry Tabios Jr. A car that hasn’t been seen in over 20+ years. Jr. spent some time this past year refreshing almost everything except for the paint. One sick nostalgic build I must say.
The annual Spocom Hawaii Bikini Contest. Congrats to the KBG Mama Grace on winning first! 🥇
JZFilth brought in Alicia G to model for the brand. White girl + black cars = perfect color contrast 🤣
Stumbled upon the OG and one of my faves, Lauren Lala, in front of the booth so I had her model real quick on Dom’s Chaser lol.
She left some nice marks on the car and Alicia decided to do some Alicia things lol…
Congrats to Dom & Martin on the W 🙌🏼
Congrats on the crew again for the 10th Anniversary!
