Hawaii S2000-NSX-Type R Meet 12.5.21

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a great holiday! A month ago I finally made it down to my second home in the beautiful island of Oahu. It’s been a little over 2 years since I last visited since the pandemic kept pushing plans further. Keep in mind I always visited once or twice a year, for weeks at a time, so this was a much needed trip. I originally booked this trip hoping the return of SpoCom Hawaii was actually going to happen, but of course it got postponed to Summer 2022. That didn’t stop me from going since I deserved a break! I didn’t really think there were going to be any car related gatherings to be honest. I messaged a friend of mine, Ray, that I was coming down and wanted to shoot his NSX. He told me about this meet/cruise the weekend I was there. It turns out some of my close friends down there were planning on going too so it was pretty much meant to be. The forecast kept on predicting rain which scared a few people to come show out, but the turnout wasn’t that bad with mild showers for a short period of time and overcast most of the day. Had a great time catching up with some old friends and meeting new ones!

We first met up at the Salt Lake Target Parking Garage since it was the closest spot that was covered.

Jordan Vega [@jvst.jordan] came through with his Grand Prix White CR on nicely spec’d OG TE37’s. He was too cool to cruise with us, so he ended up getting ramen with his cool Subie gal Jackie [@crybbjackie].

Once the rain stopped, we regrouped at a huge lot in a plaza down the street. Some heavy hitters of the NSX community in the island.

Joe O’Mara’s [@joe.merica] imported RHD NSX rocking a Wings West front lip, Gruppe M side skirts, Spoon mirrors, and TE37SL’s. From the looks of it, they look like Joanna Young’s [j0_y] old wheels.

Jason’s [@monicansxy] NA1 on TE37 Saga’s and Stoptech brakes. I didn’t get a shot of the interior, but he has a nice set of Mugen MS-Z seats.

The homie Ray Evans [@n_s_x] pulled up in his sick NSX with his wife Jasmine [@jazzyfizzzzle]. Ray made some wide, yet tasteful changes to his car the past couple years. He switched up the Spoon x Mugen theme and went widebody with some Downforce JGTC front & rear fenders, rolling on Advan RSD wheels.

Definitely one of my top 5 favorite NSX’s ever. I’ll never get tired of looking at those Car Shop Glow tail lights.

Nolan Asato’s [@zyzzx] Championship White FK8 Type R on aggressive 18x11 +37 TE37 Saga’s wrapped in 295/30 Sport Cups. Talk about BEEFY! He had a friend bring his recently acquired S2K. BALLER!!!

Clean pair of semi matching FK8’s on CE28SL’s owned by @cwfk808 and Ryan Yasuhara [@_sxyfk8_].

Ryan used to have a bagged TSX on Work Meisters, but made this transition since he wanted something manual. Great choice bro!

Tiare Mitten’s [@_toshiko_] AP2 on gold RPF1’s and Taka Soma’s [@amosakat] AP2 running an Amuse front bumper, TE37 Saga’s, and Stoptech brakes.

Nolan wasn’t the only baller that showed up. Chad Tupinio [@s2kichad] brought both of his S2K’s. His black AP1 rocking a Spoon front bumper/hood/brakes, JDM headlights, J’s Racing spoiler, and OG TE’s has been around for quite some time now. He recently picked up the silver AP2 with an Amuse bumper, Voltex spoiler, and CE28’s that the homie Matt Le [@itzmatt.le] drove in for him.

Brett Kami’s [@bkvmi] Champ White FK8 on white TE37SL’s. Can’t go wrong with a white on white combo.

Shoutout to my awesome friends Alex Yang [@integraxtr] and Lauren Fukuyama [@renren_girl] for always taking me around. This is their sick IS-F that we used as a media car even though I didn’t really get any proper rolling shots with since everyone was so spread out lol. It’s all good though. Alex recently slapped on a new set Desmond Regamaster EVO II’s and I just love this car even more!

We cruised up to Kahuku in North Shore for the shrimp trucks. Spicy garlic shrimp from Famous will always be one of go-tos!

A better angle of Taka’’s AP2. He was getting down on H1 & H2 with the others!

Hi Tiff [@whitmansan]! Lol

Ending this with one of my favorite shots.

Sorry I didn’t have much to say for every photo. I’m currently sick and I don’t have the energy to type a lot lol. Mahalo for reading! 🤙🏼
