Wekfest Seattle 2025 Part 1
Life has been a lot busy since I last made a post on here. Mainly been focused on the grind and even got back on the personal project car. I was aiming to get it done this year to show out, but of course I had other things to prioritize like a trip to Japan and other stuff going on. Definitely gonna make it a goal to finish the car by Spring 2026. We shall see though…
Anyways, it’s summer and car show season is finally here. Wekfest returned to the PNW, and it was the perfect opener for us. Always good vibes and awesome builds. This year was slightly different in a good way. A lot more new cars showed out which mixed up the pot, but perfect for my coverage since I’m not crazy about shooting the same stuff all the time lol. Backyard Boogie didn’t make an appearance this time, mostly because they finally locked in a proper running shop and got a lot of stuff cooking so get ready for that. Other than that it was another great show for everyone. Enjoy the coverage.
First things that broke my neck on the loading dock were these RPS13’s from RPSworks. Love the matching Kei Office green they utilize for their team.
My morning plans didn’t work out as well since I was supposed to roll in with a different homie, but thankfully I ran into Dru Vun in his 1JZ-GTE swapped ‘85 Toyota Pickup. Thanks again for the ride brotha!
Marion Ignacio finally finished up his imported FD RX-7 equipped with a BN Sports Defend wide body kit and super aggressive Racing Hart C2’s. Shoutout to Seylar Saran for laying down that wet paint!
Midnight Purple R34 Skyline on Super Advan SA3R wheels.
Aton Sirivongsa managed to hit the ‘Evolution of the Festival’ award for the 2nd year in a row! The full Voltex kit on Volk Racing TE37V wheels are a great match. Congrats again homie!
I haven’t seen RJ since Wekfest Seattle 2018. If I recall he was cruising around in his R32 GT-R at that time. Nowadays he’s enjoying the slim life in his legit AE86 Trueno. It’s great seeing old homies being happy.
Vinh Tran managed to do quite a bit with his A90 Supra this past year. He had the opportunity to bring the car out to SEMA with a new frozen silver wrap, Tarox BBK, and some Hotboy chrome TE37’s. Seems like the wrap didn’t last that long since he missed the shiny black paint, but the car still looks great. Unfortunately this is his last show locally since he broke the news that he’ll be moving back home to Chicago within the next few months. It’s for good reasons though since he is a family man now and for better opportunities as well. Best of luck out there homie! My plans to come see you during the next Wekfest Chicago are still set!
It doesn’t seem like Alex Tran did much to his E36 M3 lately, but he actually just got the car repainted and added on a DTM GT wing. Looks better than ever! Got some pretty cool news to announce soon, so stay tuned!
RS6 Avant on BC Forged MLE81 wheels owned by @frees5ole. Love the color matched roof box.
Nic Buettner in his properly suited GR Corolla. I believe he snagged some parts off of Mario Chan’s SEMA build, but didn’t get the chance to verify. Maybe it’s time for a shoot with this car…
Tam Le of Daily Driven pulled up with his pro charged DC2 Integra Type-R that has a full JDM exterior conversion, Nardo Grey TE37’s and NSX brakes.
I was tripping out at first thinking why these guys were offloading a 4 post lift. At first I thought they were going to load a car to flex the undercarriage. Turns out they were just raffling it off for their business. Congrats to the winner though. Not bad for $20.
Tony Dau switched back to his original BBS E88’s this year instead of the gold set. Not sure if he did anything else different, but this shot turned out to be one of best ones from that day. The lighting was on point!
Had to capture this photo of everyone’s favorite judge and Joey Lee chopping it up. Would’ve been funny if Tony actually judged this event, unless he actually did that no one really knew about…
Proper widebody Bugeye bagged on Work Meister put together by Patrick J. It took some time for him and his lady to unload the car off the trailer. I would be sketched out too with how clean it was.
M3.Austin’s super sleek Black Sapphire G80 M3 on chrome BBS LM’s. Man I need one…
Saf Salim is the first and only one in Washington to run the ADRO carbon lip on his frozen white E92 M3. It goes well with the carbon hood and Racing Green TE37’s.
The paint was so fire on this AE86 coupe owned by Garo Roy. I believe it’s the same color he had on his old AW11 MR2.
Jeff Woodruff is known to have built some crazy drift cars, and this RC definitely takes the cake for me. I’ll get more into detail in Part 2…
S15 Silvia Spec R with Ganador mirrors and Blitz Z1 wheels.
I’m not too crazy about EG’s on 16’s, but Yev Gatala did it right with these MF10’s. A classic look that turns heads. He was talking about chroming his wheels. Not for everyone, but it’s his car and he should do what he wants.
This was a nice surprise. Thomas Strom brought his ‘97 Civic Type-R loaded with a lot Spoon parts this time.
Always nice to see some Idaho guys drive over to show out, especially Mike Brown and his clean S2000. I do miss the OG Regas he used to rock, but the perfectly spec’d CE28’s are fire.
Black cars can be tough to bring around, but this 96-98 EK hatch was very presentable.
Period correct EF hatch with many Mugen goodies.
One of the top builds for me this year was Jacob Romero’s Evo VI. This thing was IMMACULATE! I’'ll be one of the few to say I’m not crazy about Evo’s in general, but this has to be one of the few I actually like.
Always good to see my Canadian Italian homie, Amedeo Funaro, with his flawless UK Spec ITR. I was hoping I’ll catch him this upcoming weekend in BC during Midnight Revup, but he’ll be in Italy. I guess I’ll see him Hawaii lol.
Brian Madayag tossed on a freshly painted front bumper paired with a Mode Parfume lip, side skirts, and rear bumper that Christian Umagat worked on. I helped him buff out the car a couple days before the event. Did a lot more than I thought, but it turned out nice. Shoutout to Backyard Boogie!
Carlos Garcia never fails to travel west and kick it with us in his EG3 on Enkei 92 mesh wheels. This time he rocked a Sergeant front bumper paired with a carbon kevlar BYS lip. Flows well with the pricey carnival yellow interior.
Salvador Estrada made the trip as well with his boosted S2000 on OG Regamaster Evos and BYS lip.
One of my all time favorite wagons is Danny Vasquez’s M3 converted E46 Touring. The BBS E88’s really sets it off.
RWB 993 awaiting to get staged…
Andrei Altamirano sold his E92 M3 & E60 M5 and got 2 new whips…
He acquired this FK8 Type-R and immediately slapped on a paint matched Mugen front lip & side skirts, and TE’s.
The R is cool, but I really like Andre’s E46 M3 more. It’s pretty obvious what his favorite wheels are since every car I seen him in are similar lol.
Aaron’s Silverstone F80 M3 on BBS E88’s.
The King, Steve Kwan, showed out with some new wheels and brake setup. It’s a pretty known fact that E88’s are now part of the M3 starter pack, but they look great. He flexed heavily with front & rear Endless BBK, and I respect him. Looks good brotha!
Pogi boy Chris Rafanan pulling in with his very well executed S2000.
After a solid circle, Mikey Legaspi acquired Toto Deleon’s champ white EK. Mikey wasted no time and transformed it into something that’s made for him including a B-swap. Umer Khokhar drove down from BC and sold his J’s Racing hood to Mikey. It goes well with the carbon Tactical Art lip. That’s not the best part though…
Mikey also got Toto’s old Project Mu BBK that was on Smokey. It sits so nice tucked between the aggressive OG CE28’s. FUCKIN FIRE!
Anthony’s S2000 CR running an ASM hood & rear bumper and Mugen MF10’s. I asked why he didn’t get the front bumper and he said didn’t wanna take away too much of the CR aspect. I dig it!
Ekk Sengchantha put in work on his R34 ever since he got it last summer. Gave it the entire Nismo Z-Tune conversion, Nismo LMGT4’s, and of course the Midnight Purple 3 paint job. So fire!
Ekk committed to the color and ditched the wrap for a proper Millennium Jade paint job on his boosted K-swap E30. A BMW chassis with a Honda motor and Nissan color. Talk about a sick trifecta lol.
I first ran into Nick Schnell’s JZX100 Chaser at the Hiro’s Hotrods Open House back in 2022. Still haven’t formally met the guy, but I respect him a lot for what he does at SpeedFactory.
I’m pretty bias when it comes to a lot of JDM cars. If it has Regas and Ganadors then I’ll automatically like it like this FD RX-7 lol.
Tuan Vu brought in his homie’s FL5 Type-R sporting a Varis Arising front lip, side skirts, carbon rear under splitters, and carbon GT wing. All sitting nice on matte blue gunmetal ZE40’s.
Super sleek LS powered Nissan Z on SSR mesh wheels.
Chelsey Pacheco underwent some unexpected changes to her EK hatch. She sold the B20V swap to prepare for her K-swap, got rid of the Exceed lip for a Mode Parfume one, and went full on big wang gang with a Cusco GT wing. She also went back to CE28’s, but a bronze set this time.
Joey Lee and Yasu Shimomukai of Exceed admiring her tucked shifter…
All jokes aside, the car looks great. Good job Pochacco. Looking forward to seeing it on the track eventually.
Garret Nelson’s RX-7 on SSR Koenig wheels heating up under the sun.
Dan Usmanoff made some subtle changes to his E36 sedan, mainly on the interior. The carbon kevlar door panels were a perfect add-on.
If I owned an E46 M3, it would probably look exactly like this one owned by Tyler Um. The peanut butter guts, CSL carbon lip, and Regas make this perfect.
Super slick SL500 on Monoblocks that caught my eye during roll in.
Mark Rivera swapped out the Advan A3A wheels for the Watanabes on his KP61 Starlet. Very proper in my opinion.
Slammed E30 sedan on gold faced BBS RS’.
Always good to have the Canadian kuyas come down, like Rich Alejandro. I was blind-sighted to notice all the changes he made to his F80 M3, mainly because we got too busy catching up with the fam & other local homies. I guess I’m gonna have to get more proper photos when I head up there this weekend.
A wicked Kouki S14 equipped with a Vertex kit, Work Meisters, and Ganadors. Obviously the main star is the RB26 swap creeping out from the engine bay. So sick!
Full drift spec JZX100 Chaser on Work Emotion T7R 2P wheels.
Loved how clean & simple this S15 Silvia Spec R was that was freshly painted an individual BMW color, Maldives Blue II owned by Fulina Tran.
Pretty cool C5 Corvette dumped on what looks like Veilside Andrew Racing V wheels? I’m sure i’m wrong, but I like it.
This was the better car that Tuan Vu brought in. His newly acquired ‘91 Suzuki Jimny. Something different, but cool!
That’s it for now! Gotta get ready for this 4 day trip to Vancouver for Midnight Revup, and to kick it with the good homies up there. Thanks for reading. Hope you guys have a fun & safe 4th of July weekend and stay tuned for Part 2!
